Beating the Plateau

by John Bonk on December 20, 2010

For a 6 week period I had only lost 3.6 pounds.  I had let some of my eating habits slip just enough where those 2 pounds per week started becoming ½ a pound average per week.  This is not acceptable.  Since I started posting my weekly updates here I have taken back my weight loss and destroyed the plateau.  I am down 8.8 pounds over the last 3 weeks.

Last Monday’s Weight: 231.4

Today’s Weight: 229.8

Pounds Lost This Week: 1.6 pounds

Estimated Weight loss per myfooddiary.com: 1.5 Pounds

Total weight loss: 86.2 pounds

This week went as well as I could have expected it to go.  I ended up losing almost exactly what was predicted.  Food wise, this was a pretty bad week for me with 3 days going over what I wanted.  One was random, one was because of the Wings-Hawks game, and the other was because of my hangover.  The other four days of the week went great though.

Exercise wise this week was not horrible.  I only played hockey twice which was a letdown, but I was able to run three times this week and lift twice.  I normally would like to lift more but my wrist is still giving me problems and I had not lifted for a long time.  So when I got back to lifting my body got really sore, really quickly.

I am happy about this week especially after my large week last week and the subpar job that I did watching what I ate.  This coming week is going to be hard since it is Christmas.  I need to limit the amount of deserts that I eat as usually I would be chowing down on all the cookies.  I need to make sure to try my best to work out while at home over the holidays.  I know I will play hockey twice this week and hopefully run twice before I leave for home.  Hopefully I can toss a run or two into the week at home.

Thanks for reading,

John

Good luck this week John, it’s going to be hard for a lot of us. Stay strong, but be sure to enjoy yourself too.
