My name is Brandon, my friends call me Pie. I suppose partly due to the weight and the other half to the butchering of Gillespie. Anyhow I’m about to turn 22 years old in April, I’m a hair over 6 foot tall and weigh currently 306.8 pounds. not my overall high but close enough to it. For years I’ve had issues with my weight, the lose a bit, gain a bit more that usually goes with the failed attempts to lose weight. I’m a college student and love to make allusions to video games and movies. But onward to the reason for this!
I’ve found that over the past 7 years of attempts to shed the weight I’ve discovered the core of my failures. Lack of not really having an outlet to keep track of the attempts and lost weight, no feed back on progress and no heart in it. But here I am correcting it and putting out the will to do it. I’ve got some modest goals I suppose. I’m looking at a total end weight of 190. The first major goal along the way is to weigh in at 270 by June 2011, followed by weighing in by December 2011 at 240. Just two goals I’d like to see a reality to make it easier for me and my girlfriend to get certifications to SCUBA dive and sky dive.
Diet and exercise wise I’ve been using a relatively low carb diet only eating roughly 50 grams of carbs a day, but plenty of protein, veggies and fresh fruits and water. At the gym I’ve been focusing mainly on cardio, doing 2 hours with an hour and a half split between a treadmill and elliptical. The rest of the time is saved for weight lifting.

Welcome aboard Pie! Really happy to have you on board and hoping we can help you reach your goals. The fact that you have those concrete goals should really help you.
We’ve got very similar goals, I’m shooting for 264 by June 2011 which will have been a loss of 40 pounds from when I started (er, re-started!) 5 weeks ago. I’m 10 pounds closer to my goal but have a long way to go.
Keep us updated on your progress and remember – write about when things go well and also when they don’t, we are here to help.

I wanted to say welcome. Always happy to have moe people join John and me. I have been you, almost exactly. I wish I could have made my change when I was 22 not 26 but better than never.
I highly recommend myfooddiary.com with a few tweaks to what they suggest. Check out my blog and weekly updates here. I am happy to help anyway I can.
