What I Ate This Week

Bento BoxI lost two pounds this week which of course makes me very happy. I’ve only just restarted so I have a long ways to go, but I have now booked three weekly losses in a row for a total of 8 pounds. That feels like a great start to me!

How did I do it? Well, it certainly wasn’t with exercise – my treadmill took a crapper on me and it’s been cold and snowy outside, so other than a 4 mile walk I took last Sunday I didn’t get too active this week.

But what I did do well is in my food choices. Here is a quick rundown for the week:

Monday Meals Started Monday off right with oatmeal, and packed a bento box lunch, which not only saves me money but forces smaller portion sizes on me. I probably didn’t need the Sloppy Joe and I really didn’t need the Kind bar as a snack.
Tuesday Meals Oatmeal at breakfast and a bento box lunch again, healthy portions of fruit for snacks and a big salad for dinner. Very good day!
Wednesday Meals Third day in a row for oatmeal for breakfast and bento box lunch. I’m on a roll! Best part about this day is how I avoided all the goodies at a conference I attended.
Thursday Meals Oatmeal again and big salad at lunch and dinner. I’m fine with the small piece of pot roast at dinner but perhaps I can cut the chili at lunch.
Friday Meals Just a banana-nut muffin for breakfast, which I know aren’t the best for me. A so-so wrap for lunch, and some bad lo-cal pasta for dinner. I should have stuck to just the salad.
Saturday Meals This was my best day of the week, I gave myself a 10. Protein shake breakfast, big salad for lunch, nice bowl of fruit and veggies for dessert/snacks.

It’s interesting to contrast this week with the week when I first started doing photographic documentation of my meals. At least this week I introduced a much greater amount of veggies into my diet than I had back then.

Overall I was pleased with my food choices this week (NO FAST FOOD being a key), and happy to book a two-pound loss. I’ll be in a hotal down in Atlanta this week so the going is about to get a little tougher for me.
