Slow and Steady wins the race…

I don’t know if the tortoise said that or where I heard it, but I alternate between that and Master Yoda (Do or Do Not. There is no Try). The gist of the message is, I’m better off today that when I started.

You have probably seen my comments on Facebook or Twitter or even here about how much I am hating the Stats class (billed as a research class) I’m taking this year. It really is a basic course, and I think if I weren’t dealing with so much other bullshit in my life, I probably would be doing just find. Well, no not really. But it would be the most difficult thing I’m dealing with rather than just one more irritant. Today we talked about correlations, the surprising thing (for everyone) is… I understood it. I told the prof she wasn’t explaining the concept correctly because I understood the ‘magic’.

Without going into the gory details, she used weight gain as an example. She said there is a correlation between being a grad student and gaining weight. I really don’t know where I could wedge in the exercise regimen I had before classes started last fall, but I really don’t want to lose too much more ground.

Good News… Monthly check-up today. Doc was happy I had lost 4 lbs since my last visit in March. I went directly from the appointment to WeightWatchers
