		<description>Good post, Jason. I don&#039;t think that &quot;replace&quot; is quite the right term, though. We shouldn&#039;t be replacing avoidance, we should be learning to deal with our issues. Your points about groups, counseling, etc. are spot on. Food is not our problem-food is an attempt at a solution. The problem is, it works just well enough that we think we&#039;ve avoided our feelings or our problems, but those feelings and problems are still there after we&#039;ve eaten a whole bag of Doritos, and now we have the additional problem of being fat. Counseling and group therapy are scary precisely because we start dealing with our feeling and our problems instead of avoiding them (or at least, we do if we actually work the counseling and group therapy). I&#039;ve found them to be invaluable in my recovery.</description>
