The next phase…

For the time being I am shutting down my Weight Loss and Poker blogs. I just put in my resignation at work yesterday and I don’t want information in those blogs to leak out into the wrong hand.  They will be back online March 1st.

This is an exciting and nerve wrecking time in my life right now.  This is the next step.  I have been with the company for just under 9 years and it’s time for me to move on.  I will be going into business for myself.

It’s bitter-sweet to leave this job.  On one hand, the job has nearly ruined my life and my outlook on society in general.  On the other hand, the actual work I did was easy and it paid decent.  I’m excited about what I will make of myself in the future.  I’m also scared to death.

All that being said, there’s no excuses for bad health.  I will be setting my own schedules and making all my own rules for a while.  I have also promised myself the following:

- I will work out 5 mornings a week, first thing in the morning after breakfast.

- I will NOT do drugs

- I will set an itinerary for things to be done during the week and do my best to accomplish those goals

- I will take advantage of this opportunity to learn new things.

I have really given this decision a lot of thought.  Enough thought that it has actually made me sick in the stomach.  But I finally pulled the trigger.  Ask me in May or June how happy I was with that decision.

As for money, I have some work lined up already.  I will also be playing a lot of poker in the upcoming months.  So much, in fact, that I should get $33K in bonuses even if I don’t win a single dollar on the tables.  I will also be using the PokerStars Concierge service to pay for my tuition to take a few classes.  I’ve decided that going back to school is an option. 

This is all just going to be a test of my will and determination.  So long I have let my job be an excuse for so many things.  Bad eating, not making anything out of my life, lack of exercise, anti-social behavior, etc, etc, etc.  Well, there are no excuses now.

I will continue to blog my progress on this site for a few weeks until I get settled in with the new career.  I’m probably going to go through all my posts on my sites and make sure they are fairly anonymous.  I don’t mind my first name out there because my first name isn’t really my first name   Also I’ll be doctoring my pics a little to make them a little more anonymous.
