Ah, that's a good point! Well, I admit, sometimes I use a "greens" powder supplement when I don't have time to fix veggies if I need a quick meal. Though I try to keep things like bell peppers and baby carrots on hand for emergencies as well, sometimes the veggie bin runs dry, LOL!

Many years ago, I tried the Slimfast shakes... and I had trouble with those, they just didn't fill me up and I ended up either drinking several, or eating in addition to having the shake, which rather defeated the purpose.

I eat about 5 meals a day so I usually want to do a shake option at least once a day and sometimes twice. But nowadays, I make my own with cottage cheese (or yogurt), protein powder, frozen fruits, healthy fats from flax meal or nuts and chilled green tea as the liquid base. I often toss a big handful of spinach in for my veggie serving and blend it all up.

For travel the Herbalife shakes might help, because it's often hard to get in good quality meals while traveling. Just remember that if they don't fill you up, solid food options might do better. My own homemade smoothies fill me for several hours... but my husband can drink one and still want to keep eating. And these are 400 calorie shakes! So we aren't talking a skimpy amount of calories either! So solid food is better for him.

Good luck... and keep focusing on your goals. That helps me when I am feeling weak and like eating something I shouldn't. Heaven help me... hubby brought in a candy bar today and it is on my mind. He's using it as a photography prop for a contest he's entering, but yikes I wish I hadn't seen it!

That is a good point Cynthia. The reason that I like it is that it is basically shakes that have a lot of healthy stuff in them and vitamins. I feel better when i am drinking the shakes because it gives me a good deal of nutrition with the limited time that I have in my schedule. The bad thing is though, that i get into bad eating habits because when i use shakes to replace meals i feel like I can eat anything I want when I do eat and I'm usually pretty hungry. I am going to be traveling a lot in the next month so I am going to see how i do with making good choices and reassess after that. Thanks for your words of wisdom!

.2 pounds is not significant... could be fat gain, could just as easily be water. So well done for getting major gains stopped!

I don't know about Herbalife... honestly, can you keep that up the rest of your life? Because otherwise, if you go off it again, you may see gains again. Of course, I'll admit, I'm not a fan... was on a Usenet group that used to get spammed often by Herbalife sellers. And in general, I worry about too much dependence on pills/potions for weight loss. But that's me, if it really does work for you, it may be worth using.

But I would still recommend watching what you are eating regardless of whether you are using Herbalife, simply because you want to form lifelong eating habits that are healthier.

I just want to say, moving is TOUGH! I did it in 2005... and I gained weight during. So keep up the good fight and realize that when you get settled, things may go easier in the weight loss department.
