Weight Warriors - Week 3
I feel like CRAP!
I haven’t been eating right, I haven’t been blogging, I haven’t been to the gym but once since last Wednesday, but it is still weigh-in day for the warriors. So off I go to the RAC, with a dose of Tylenol Daytime Cough & Cold in my system.
The first thing Mikki says, “Geez John. You look like crap”. Thanks, I feel like I look. I told her that everything in me said to stay home, sit in front of the TV and sniffle. I know that you are thinking the same thing. When you don’t feel like working out, don’t, stay at home and when it passes, then go back to the gym. Wrong! Mikki says that you should do what you can to get your heart rate elevated. Getting that blood pumping actually increases the immune systems of your body. But, before I got by blood pumping… I stepped on the scale.
Anton, A drumroll if you please…

You deserve a drumroll for that! Impressive! I wouldn’t have guessed that going to the gym when you are sick would be a good thing, but well, maybe so.
I was sick last winter and it just lingered on and on. I also had pink eye, so I don’t think they would’ve really wanted to see me at the gym since that is really contagious. But maybe if I’d moved more, I’d have gotten well faster.
I’ll give it a try next time I get sick.

Of course, being sick is not the healthiest means of losing weight, but it does have results. Whenever I had a big loss after being sick, my Weight-Watchers leader would ask what I had done right… when I hesitated on my answer, she’d then ask “you were sick, weren’t you?” Yeah. I heard there are some really bad bugs going around that can help you lose weight fast… of course, some could be permanent…

Great job! This Weight Warriors thing is kicking it into high gear…regardless of the presence of flu-like symptoms.

Charles, which could be permanent? The bugs or the weightloss?

I was mostly referring to the ultimate weight-loss program… with a terminal finality. Poor attempt at a joke.

Ah…. lets just chalk up the misunderstanding to an over-abundance of Nyquil (the crack cocaine of cold meds).
