The Best Diet Pill Ad EVER!

The wife and I were watching Wyatt Earp on AMC tonight, you know the one with Kevin Costner? Since we are like most Americans, we hold conversations during the commercial breaks in our favorite programs. But tonight an ad came on that, at first, I wasn’t sure I heard them say what I thought I heard them say. Fortunately for us, this is basic cable and if you miss one flim-flam ad, you are sure to catch it again in the next break.

Well, tonight we (you and I) were lucky and I get to point you toward the diet pill website with a million dollar URL.  http://eatallyouwantandstillloseweight.com/

This handy-dandy pill called Akavar 20/50 promises:

A Major medical breakthrough has shattered the weight-loss barrier and a new generation of fast-acting caloric restrictors has been born… an entirely new generation of powerful, foolproof, bio-active weight loss compounds that automatically reduce caloric intake… eliminating traditional dieting, calorie counting, strenuous exercise, fad diets, supermarket “miracle” pills, Japanese wonder diets, rubber suits, belts, creams or anything else you have ever tried before. But most significantly, this new generation of potent compounds has eliminated diet failure and replaced it with guaranteed success. Akävar™-20/50 makes up for years of overeating, years without exercise, years without being able to push away the extra dessert or midnight snack and, most importantly, years of embarrassment and lack of self-confidence.

My had to practically restrain me from ordering a bottle of these babies for the unheard of price of $39.95 (plus S&H) when I found that they had the backing of the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce!

What was the phrase that was uttered that caught my attention you ask? You are lucky to be able to see its paraphrased version on their website.

“And we couldn’t say it on TV if it wasn’t true!”

Well, it sure seems to work for the brunette dish that takes up half of every page on that site.

LOL I just love “miracles” in a bottle.
Just hope folks remember the saying “A fool and his money are soon parted” cause that is all that any one is going to lose falling for this hype – cash not pounds.

I saw this commercial a few nights ago and the first thing I did was roll my eyes. I wonder how much money these people are going to make by every person that is overweight and really doesn’t want to put the effort in to lose the weight…only to have it put out there to be the fraud that it is. *giggles*

I too rolled my eyes at the statement about we cannot say it if it wasn’t true. I find it interesting that they won’t list the ingredients so people can see if they are allergic to anything or take it to a Dr to see if they can take it without interfearing with there current medicines.
I would like to also comment about the fact that many overweight don’t order so called miracle products so they don’t have to do any exercise or put effort into it. They do it because they have back injuries that don’t allow them to exercise (I myself have 4 back 1 neck 1 head, 1 hip & non-working thyroid). People take freedom of speach too far especially when they do not know all the circumstances that surround the situation. There are many other factors that can keep people from exercising so don’t be so quick to judge why people order things.

You will have to admit that people with LEGITIMATE reasons that keep them from being active are a very small minority. I believe that all of us FatBloggers used every excuse in the book (I know I did) to maintain our lard filled a$$es. It isn’t until the benefits of getting up off said a$$es and moving outweighs the risks.
Science hasn’t developed a pill yet that will do that.
