Upcoming vacation

Ok, this is where the rubber meets the road.  This is where the grease hits the pan.  This is where the…ok, you get the idea.

I’m going on vacation this Thursday.  I’m going to be out of my routine, and subjected to mostly eating out, although we’ll take quite a bit of stuff with us also.  I’ve been preaching it all this time myself, but it’s time to do some planning.  I can do Subway pretty well, and the hotel we’re staying at has a good breakfast set out with some good healthy choices.  I’m also going to bring along my running clothes so that I can find a place to keep up with my Couch-to-5k regimen.  We’ll have wireless in the hotel, so I’ll let you know how I’m doing along the way.

I went to a catered barbecue last night, and had a DELICIOUS 12-points dinner, complete with beef, potato salad, and homecooked beans.  Who says dieting has to be a drag?

Does your hotel room by chance have a little mini fridge??? The last time I traveled for business, my first top after getting off of the plane was to the closest grocery story for fruit, water, yogurt and granola bars. Even if you don’t have a fridge, taking some fruit and granola bars and such will be good to keep on hand and might keep you from walking down the hall to the vending machines…

    Safe travels!!! :-D

That’s a great question, and I’ll find out. If nothing else, we’ll have a cooler along for my yogurt and stuff. I also have a week long trip planned for myself at the end of July, so maybe we can use this for a trial run. Thanks for the ideas.

Who says dieting has to be dieting.. how about lifestyle changes and you are seeing that you can actually live this way… to me dieting implies something you will eventually go off of instead of adapting too. It has been a hard road for me to lose the word dieting and go for lifestyle changes.. life style changes know no end. Constantly adapting to whatever situation.. So in way with out even realizing it.. you are a life style changer .. not a dieter.. you are above all that.. Look at the postive things .. bringing food with you.. knowing where the Subways are to eat at.. Knowing that you might face an obstacle or two.. ROCK on .. and oh yeah how could I forget your plan to exercise.. EXCELLENT.. have a very very safe trip!!!
