monday weigh-in
209 (+2)
I dunno what happened. Could it have been the gorging of banana split sunday at church, or the 20 pounds of mucus and phlegm that is congesting my head and sinuses?

Link to Big Fat Deal » Weight Loss Plans: The Price Per Pound
Big Fat Deal is reporting a recent story on how much diet plans cost. The most expensive? The Zone diet, at about $140 a pound. The least expensive? Our very own Weight Watchers, at about $7 a pound, plus the food that you buy. (You’d have to buy food anyway, so I’m not sure why they include it into the cost here.)
I would even go a little farther and argue that doing WW might actually SAVE you a few bucks. Especially if you’re not hitting the fast food circuit every day, going through a gallon of ice cream every night, etc… However, I am drinking more juice instead of soda, so perhaps that balances things out a little.

Baskin-Robbins fat-free, no sugar added frozen yogurt. Small size, 3.5 points. I’ve been avoiding a lot of high-fructose sugar this whole time, so this didn’t taste overly sweet or overbearing in any way. Just a nice, cool treat to have a little fun on a Friday evening.

Ok, I’m not real sure what to think about all of these. Apparently, they are real Weight Watchers recipe cards from circa 1974. I’m a huge WW fan, but if they indeed put out this assortment of recipes from hell, they’ve sure come a long ways since then. Fish combined with jell-o. Frozen coffee on a stick. Mangled salmon ground up and formed into a shape of itself. Mackerelly. Yes, you heard me.
Oh my.

Diet-blog.com is reporting that Subway is going to be selling single-slice pizza in the very near future. Not so sure what I think about that one. Just today, I went in and enjoyed a 6-inch turkey on whole wheat, no mayo. Only 5 WW points. It’s going to be a little strange to go in there and smell pizza cooking, something I KNOW won’t go well on my diet. Maybe I’ll need to start looking for a new sandwich joint. Here’s the full story:

I got a little present at the WeightWatchers meeting this morning. Week 15 finds me attaining my FIRST major goal, 25 pounds!
As I said I would do in my post last week, I got mad.
During the last seven days; I left points on the table every day AND I got to the gym 4x, if you count the yardwork I’ve done this week… I got sweaty all seven days. So a big ol’ pat on the back for John.
Without further delay… Anton, drum roll please…
Week 15: -3.8 lbs for a TOTAL LOSS and the nifty magnet of 26.4 lbs!

Sorry for being lax on keeping up with my little ‘blubber log.’ Since the crazy work dealy-o and vacation, I had NOT done much in the weightloss/dieting area. I weighed myself the day after we got back from FL and I came in at about 210 — up again… NUTS! I have since been curbing myself and am now at 207. Now that the weather is a wee bit warmer and my sched is a wee bit less intense as before, I can start doing some physical activity outdoors.
Volleyball season is about to start at the end of this month — I can’t wait!

down a WHOPPING .2 lbs. this week for a grand total of 21.4 lbs.
Is it obvious that I’m losing motivation?

Actually, it’s week 6, according to the WW calendar, but I counted my very first day as Week 0. But no matter, I’ve been at this exactly five weeks today. I lost 1.6 pounds this week, bringing my total to 20.4 pounds lost. This was my lowest amount lost in a week so far, but crossing the 20 pound threshold is definitely a milestone to stop and consider.

First of all, I hope you were able to enjoy this Easter Sunday with your family and loved ones. For many of us, it’s the marking of a profound event in human history.
And of course, like a good American, I’m used to celebrating by eating. I did ok during Easter dinner today: Some ham, green beans, salad, some fruit, and I skipped the potatoes and dinner rolls. Ok, I had just a smidgen of the potatoes. But I did skip the dessert; some spongy Jell-o thing that my sister made. It looked good. And dinner tonight was some nachos that I rounded up because I was hungry and didn’t want to spend a lot of time cooking. All in all, I only used up 4 “extra” points today of the 35 that Weight Watchers gives me every week. In fact, I hadn’t used any of those points since my debacle at Chili’s a few weeks ago.
Last night, I had a great dinner with John: Barbecue teriyaki steak, some cheesy/brocolli rice stuff, and fresh pineapple. Good stuff, and I stayed well within the boundaries for yesterday as well.
So this coming Tuesday, I may only be down a pound or so. Maybe two, if I’m lucky. If that’s all, then it’s ok. I would rather slow down my weight loss knowing that I was able to stop and enjoy life a little bit in the process.
Upcoming meals: I’m going to do some stir-fry a little later this week, right along with some chicken marinated with Yoshida’s. I’ll let you know how it is.
Have a great week!
