Get Your Athlete’s Body Back

Here’s a great article from Weight Watchers:  How to get the body back you had in high school.  I was never a superstar athlete, but I did manage to letter in four different sports while I was there,  Three in basketball, two in baseball, and one each in football and cross country.   Of course, after all of that was done, and I wasn’t in a training mode any more, the weight packed on in no time.  Needless to say, it’s been a problem for the last 22 years of my life.

So as I continue to drop some weight, at some point I need to look at some conditioning of some kind.  I’ve already started some distance walking for endurance, but this article also goes on to suggest some strength conditioning as well.  I’m not going to kid myself here.  I don’t expect to be hitting fastballs out of the park, or keeping up with 18-year-olds in a full-court scrimmage any time soon.  But, with some work, I think I can gradually build some endurance and muscle tone back up that is more in line with a 40-year-old body.

It’s a lifestyle, not a diet.
