Week 16: Weigh-In
I do love it when things work out the way they are supposed to. Jan, my Weight Watchers leader, gives us ‘bravo stickers’ for; tracking everyday, working out at least 5x, and drinking all your water. It’s pretty amazing, that when you do those things, you lose weight! Go figure!
Anton, drum roll if you will…
Week 16 has the scale DOWN another 4.8 lbs. for a TOTAL LOSS of 31.4 lbs.
Only 7.6 lbs until the first BIG benchmark.

Good job bro!!
What does WW say about setting goals. It is better to set small achievable ones, or to set larger ones, or both?

Ironically enough that is the topic of the meeting yesterday. I was encouraged to set a BIG goal along with the mini-goals I have set for myself.
As I said in class yesterday, I’m don’t really want to divulge my BIG goal for two reasons. One, I feel like I am setting myself up for failure. Two, I feel that it will give those around me another piece of ammo in the “Hall of John’s Failures”.
I do have a BIG goal, but I choose to celebrate the smaller ones. Reaching 25 lbs. and feeling the bagginess of my clothes is nice. And with the 10% mark just 7 lbs away, I hope to ‘celebrate’ about every 15 lbs. It is those ’smaller’ goals that keep me motivated to stay in the fight. It will be a long journey, but the snowball effect makes it interesting.
