New class…old lifestyle

Some of you know that I’m working toward my school administration credentials.  I just started a class this evening that’s going to absolutely kick my rear end.  Four weekends over the next month and a half.  Not to mention the day job stuff and family things I’m already committed to.  Already, I feel my stress and anxiety levels going up several notches.  I’m worried most about maintaining my weight loss program through this whole thing.  The traveling, the late nights, the deadline-driven projects…all of which encourage a fast food, eat-on-the fly lifestyle.  And nobody else in my cohort is watching their weight.

Take a deep breath.

I can do this.  I’ve done it so far, thanks in no small part to the blogging community right here.

It takes some planning.  Maybe getting up a little earlier, maybe writing things out a little more the night before.  But I can do this.  Don’t skip the breakfast, have a granola bar on hand.  Good lunch, be sure to save some yogurt for the afternoon.  Have a Diet Pepsi on hand just in case.  And for Heaven’s sake keep up with the online food diary.

I can do this.

Hang in there! Stree and a busy schedule are challenging but you have a plan — you cn do it. :) Carrying healthy snacks are a great idea — I use Extend bars (they are specially designed to keep blood sugar levels stable, lots of protein 11 grams and low in calories 150 each) and find they help me more then any other bar out there. Good luck with your goals. Lady Rose

    You can do it Rick!
Don’t look at a drive-thru as your only option. Most grocery stores have a good deli. Ignore the artery clogging ‘hot box’ and look for a wrap or a (smart) salad.
I got a REALLY good roast beef wrap at Super 1 in Two-Walla yesterday that only cost me 5 points. Safeway has those GREAT salads for less than $5. The Oriental has 9 points, much less than ANYTHING from Mickey D’s.
