The weekend

First of all, I hope you were able to enjoy this Easter Sunday with your family and loved ones.  For many of us, it’s the marking of a profound event in human history.

And of course, like a good American, I’m used to celebrating by eating.  I did ok during Easter dinner today:  Some ham, green beans, salad, some fruit, and I skipped the potatoes and dinner rolls.  Ok, I had just a smidgen of the potatoes.  But I did skip the dessert; some spongy Jell-o thing that my sister made.  It looked good.  And dinner tonight was some nachos that I rounded up because I was hungry and didn’t want to spend a lot of time cooking.  All in all, I only used up 4 “extra” points today of the 35 that Weight Watchers gives me every week.  In fact, I hadn’t used any of those points since my debacle at Chili’s a few weeks ago.

Last night, I had a great dinner with John:  Barbecue teriyaki steak, some cheesy/brocolli rice stuff, and fresh pineapple.  Good stuff, and I stayed well within the boundaries for yesterday as well.

So this coming Tuesday, I may only be down a pound or so.  Maybe two, if I’m lucky.  If that’s all, then it’s ok.  I would rather slow down my weight loss knowing that I was able to stop and enjoy life a little bit in the process.

Upcoming meals:  I’m going to do some stir-fry a little later this week, right along with some chicken marinated with Yoshida’s.  I’ll let you know how it is.

Have a great week!

Oh I wish I could’ve passed on the mashed potatoes and rolls - white carbs are my weakness! I agree that it’s so important to figure out a way to incorporate real life into an eating plan (Weight Watchers, etc) - otherwise it’s so easy to ‘fall off the wagon’. Slow and steady wins the race (’they’ keep telling me :)

I had 2 holidays to deal with Passover on Monday night and Easter Sunday.. food galore.. but I did okay.. stayed the same..so thats good..I am on the Mayo Clinic Healthy weight For Everyone program.. following food pyramid.. lots of fruits and veggies limits on carbs, protein/dairy,fats and sweets. Been very successful with it so far.. 17.25 pounds since Jan 22, 07… I mmet with a nutritionist weekly too.. so its been very helpful. Still a weight warrior though.. and probably will be for the rest of my life..
